Lash Extension Questions

Got a question? We’re here to help.

  • What are lash extensions?

Lash Extensions are a glamorous way to extend the length and thickness of natural eyelashes and are a practical, convenient, and beautiful alternative to the daily use of mascara.

  • How long do they really last?

When properly applied, Lash Extensions can be worn throughout the year with minimal monthly maintenance. Touch-ups are recommended after the initial full set application to refill any lashes that have shed. Most clients schedule touch up appointments every 2-4 weeks.

  • Can lash extensions harm natural lashes?

Our priority is the health of the natural lash. When applied properly, Lash Extensions will not harm natural lashes. The application technique allows natural lashes to grow and thrive with extensions. The technique requires several different separation steps during the application process so each extension is adhered to a single natural lash in order to prevent interruption of the lash growth cycle.

  • Can mascara be used with lash extensions?

Describe the item or answer the question so that site visitors who are interested get more information. You can emphasize this text with bullets, italics or bold, and add links.
  • Can I get my lash extensions wet?

Yes.  Eyelash extensions are meant to fit seamlessly into your lifestyle and this includes getting them wet.  In fact we encourage clients to get  lash extensions wet daily and keep them clean.  We explain how to properly clean them after the initial full set application.

  • Why does Blink include a complimentary follow-up appointment?

We believe this is a unique beauty service and a form of facial artistry. We want to check in with each and every client to see how they are enjoying and wearing their new lash extensions.

The follow-up appointment is completely optional, but at Blink, we feel this addition really sets us apart in the industry.

Your Eyelash Extension Care Plan

Care and proper maintenance is important for longer lasting, beautiful lashes!

01

Wait 24 Hours

Let the adhesive fully cure before getting lashes wet.

02

Clean Lashes Daily

Start after 24 hours.

  • Mix water with a small drop of lash cleanser.

  • Use a Q-tip to gently cleanse your lash line.

  • This helps remove dust, pollen, and pollutants that can weaken the bond.

03

Brush Lashes Once a Day

Use the spoolie brush provided by your technician.

  • Lightly brush lashes to keep them neat, fluffy, and separated.

04

Avoid Oil Based Products

  • Skip makeup or skincare products with oil, especially around your eyes.

  • Be cautious with hair products—many contain high oil content that can transfer.

05

Limit Heat, Steam & Sweat

These break down the adhesive. Avoid:

  • Steam rooms or saunas.

  • Direct heat from ovens, grills, or dishwashers – turn your face away.

  • Facials – request eye pads to protect lashes.

  • Hot showers – keep water pressure off your lashes.

  • Workouts – wear a headband to absorb sweat and oil

06

Hands Off!

  • No rubbing, pulling, or playing with your lashes.

  • This can cause premature shedding and damage your natural lashes
